Unwind in comfort when you stay at this enticing cottage at the heart of lively Southwold on the Suffolk coast. Sleeping four guests, this airy, two-bedroom retreat has been designed to be a haven right at the heart of the popular town. Welcoming a four-legged guest as well, it is in an excellent location for getting out and about in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including to beaches and other beauty spots. It comes with a small courtyard where you can enjoy the fresh air on warm days.
Wander inside to unpack your luggage, explore the cottage and make yourselves comfortable before starting to plan your excursions out into the town and beyond. At ground-floor level, you will find an inviting lounge, with French windows that bring the light pouring in and comfortable seating where you can relax in front of the TV or a DVD. The kitchen/diner has ample space for preparing homecooked meals and gathering round the table to dine together or enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake from a local Suffolk bakery. There is also a family shower room downstairs. Both the bedrooms, a double and a twin, are upstairs at this cottage. The small courtyard is the perfect place to sit with a glass of chilled wine on a summer’s evening. There is parking for one car at the property.
Grab a towel and head 300 metres from the cottage to the seafront, where you can paddle, swim and make castles on the sand. Wander 150 metres to see the lighthouse or 0.5 miles down to the colourful pier, with its selection of eateries and shops to browse in. You can also spend time at the under-the-pier show, with its unique, interactive machines, and see the water clock.
